Why I started Taxi Dancer

Most people just need a real conversation with someone who isn't going to fix them, judge them, or charge them by the hour. That's what I'm here for.

Common questions

How is this different from therapy? +

I'm not a licensed therapist. I'm a person who's good at listening. Therapy is for diagnosed conditions and clinical care; this is for the times you just need to talk something out without paying $150 an hour and committing to a treatment plan.

What kinds of things do people talk about? +

Work stress. Relationships. Caregiving for aging parents. Loss. Big life transitions. Or nothing in particular — sometimes you just need a real conversation with someone who isn't your spouse or coworker.

How private is this? +

What you say stays between us. I don't keep notes, don't record, and don't share. I'm not a mandated reporter the way a licensed clinician would be — but I'd encourage you to call 988 or 911 if you're in crisis. This service isn't built for emergencies.

What if I run over the time? +

If we're mid-conversation and you need a few extra minutes, I won't cut you off mid-sentence. If you regularly want longer sessions, the 60-minute option is the right one.
